Neudorf Moutere Nelson Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 23-Jan-2014
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. The nose is very finely expressed and tightly bound, showing white stonefruits, delicate exotic florals, herbs and nuts and mouthwatering mineral nuances that unfold with waves of detail. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, delicate and intricate, detailed flavours of white stonefruits, exotic florals, herbs and minerals are the feature on palate. The fruit flows on a very fine-textured line with poised acidity and phenolics providing excellent drive. The mouthfeel is refined and elegant and carries through to a long, sustained and nuanced, dry finish. This is a very refined and detailed dryish Pinot Gris with excellent freshness and balance. Serve with white meat dishes over the next 4-5 years. Clones 2/15, 7A and Mission from the ‘Home’ vineyard, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented to 14.0% alc. and 5.0 g/L RS, one-third in neutral puncheons and aged on gross lees. 334 cases made. 18.5/20 Jan 2014 RRP $30.00
