Neudorf Moutere Nelson Chardonnay 2017

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 20-Sep-2018
Bright, even, light golden-yellow colour with slight lemon-green hues and a little depth, paler on edge. The nose is very elegant, fresh and vibrant with good depth of white and yellow stonefruits, along with subtle nutty oak and creamy barrel-ferment hints, unfolding mouthwatering mineral detail. The fruit and oak builds in concentration and intensity with aeration, developing fine nuance. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegant in presentation with brisk, refreshing and lively flavours of white and yellow stonefruits along with subtle notes of nutty oak. The palate is one of finesse, freshness and vibrancy, and builds a fine core with good acid vitality. The flavours flow along a very fine line leading to a fresh, detailed finish. This is an elegant, refreshingly vibrant Chardonnay with subtly building flavours and complexities on a fine and lively palate. Serve with seafood over the next 4+ years. 100% hand-picked Mendoza clone fruit from the ‘Home’ block, WBP and fully indigenous yeast barrel-fermented with high solids to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months on full lees in 12% new French oak, undergoing batonnage and MLF, then given a further 4 months on lees in tank. 362 cases made.
