Neighbours Folly Martinborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 24-Nov-2014
Even ruby-red colour, youthful, lighter on rim. This has a full, softly ripe-fruited nose with aromas of dark raspberries with good depth and density, unfolding harmonious nuances of dark herbs, some oak, and floral lift. Medium-full bodied, soft and up-front flavours of dark raspberries and plums are entwined with bitter cherry notes and dark herbs. The fruit is mouthfilling and rounded, and is supported by fine, grainy tannins at the core. Ripe acidity enhances the fruit sweetness, and as the wine flows, the extraction grows, carrying through to a dry, textured finish with raspberry and bitter cherry notes. This is a full, densely packed Pinot Noir with sweetly ripe fruit and a grainy, textured finish. Match with pork, beef and lamb over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from Te Muna Road fermented with 10% whole cluster to 13.5% alc., the wine spending 28 days on skins and aged 11 months in seasoned oak. 17.5/20 Nov 2014 RRP $22.50
