Nautilus Marlborough Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Jul-2017
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour. The nose is softly presented showing real depth and concentration of white and yellow stonefruits in a flinty amalgam with creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak. The palate is full-bodied and possesses presence, the flavours showing stylish restraint, but undeniable concentration and richness, with stonefruits and citrus fruits, mealy detail and layers of flinty complexity, along with creamy and nutty oak. This is subtle with its MLF expression. This is deliciously rich, complex and has proportion and style. Outstanding wine, Predominantly clones 15 and 95 with a little 548 and 1066, fully indigenous yeast barrel fermented with high solids, the wine spending 11 months in 25% new French oak, undergoing batonnage and approx. 85% MLF. 19.0/20 Jul 2017 RRP $35.95
