Nautilus Marlborough Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Jul-2011
Clone 15 from the company's Renwick vineyard and from the ‘Korohi' vineyard, with Dijon clone 95 from the ‘Greer' vineyard from Rapaura, fully barrel-fermented, a portion with indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc., the wine was barrel aged with batonnage. Bright pale-straw-yellow colour with some lemon-green hues. This is very fine and tightly bound on bouquet. There are concentrated aromas of yellow stonefruits and lifted, fragrant florals with mealy, nutty elements along with minerals and flinty interest. An elegant wine, and still very youthful, delicate citrus and stonefruit flavours are matched by mealy, nutty oak and subtle spice notes. Fresh acidity and gentle textures give real poise and refinement to the palate. Possessing definite complexities, this contemporary, layered Chardonnay will open out and be far more expressive in the next year, and drink well with seafood and poultry for another 4-5 years easily. 18.0+/20 Jul 2011 RRP $35.00
