Nautilus Estate ‘The Paper Nautilus’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Sep-2016
Full, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on the rim. This has a soft and elegant nose with a delicate and gentle array of white and yellow stonefruit aromas along with subtle herb and gooseberry notes, and very fine hints of nuts, flint and minerals. The aromatics build to form a taut and concentrated core unfolding interest and detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a tightly concentrated heart unfolding nuance and detail, showing white and yellow stonefruits along with gooseberry elements, nutty complexities and suggestions of flint and minerals. This has a firm, fine-textured core and line with refreshing lacy acidity providing tension and poise. The subtle complexities meld with the stonefruit flavours to carry to a sustained, elegant finish. This is an elegantly concentrated, taut and refined, subtly complex Sauvignon Blanc with stonefruit flavours and complexing nutty and minerally detail. Match with herb marinated seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 3+ years. MS Sauvignon Blanc from the ‘Renwick’ vineyard, vines 25+ y.o., fermented with high solids in a 3000 L seasoned French oak cuve ro 13.5% alc. and 1.0 g/L RS, the wine aged 7 months in cuve. 18.5/20 Sep 2016 RRP $35.00
