Nautilus Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Dec-2014
Fruit from the ‘Opawa’ and ‘Kaituna’ vineyards supplemented with contract fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel with 2% in barrel to 13.0% alc. and 2.0 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. This has a fresh and tightly bound nose with elegantly penetrating aromas of gooseberries and passionfruit and mouthwatering minerally lees elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, fresh, lively and juicy flavours of gooseberries, herbs and passionfruit unveil tropical fruit and lime notes, forming an elegantly concentrated core with a fine textural thread lending linearity. The acidity is gentle and lacy, providing vitality, energy and good drive, carrying the palate to a long, sustained, dry finish. This is a fresh, lively and juicy Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry, herb and passionfruit flavours. Match with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. 18.0/20 Dec 2014 RRP $24.95
