Nautilus Estate Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Dec-2014
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on edge. This has a soft and finely expressed nose with delicate aromas of rose-petal florals, white stonefruits , hints of spice and subtle, mineral and lees notes. Dryish to taste, the fruit flavours of stonefruits, rose-petal florals and pears show with sweetness, revealing honey, spices and minerals. The mouthfeel is soft with a hint of unctuousness, and flows smoothly. This has an elegant core, and the wine has a gentle energy and drive which carries the flavours to a very refined, lingering, aromatic finish. This is a refined, gentle, smooth-flowing dry Pinot Gris with spices, florals and minerals. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 3 years. Hand-picked fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel, with a small portion in seasoned oak to 13.5% alc. and 4.0 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 18.0/20 Dec 2014 RRP $29.00
