Nautilus Estate Marlborough Gruner Veltliner 2014

Gruner Veltliner from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Dec-2014
Fruit from the ‘Renwick’ vineyard, one portion given 8 hours skin contact and fermented in seasoned oak, the other portion WBP and tank fermented; the wine at 13.5% alc. and 2.5 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 months on lees. Full, bright, straw-yellow colour with light green-gold hues. The nose is fresh, tight and cutting with aromas of white and green stonefruits, herbs and lanolin, along with nuances of white pepper and lifted florals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is harmoniously constructed with a fine core and line of white stonefruits, herbs and white pepper. This has a delicate concentration with fine phenolic textures, balanced by fresh, soft acidity, carrying the wine to an elegant, lingering, dry finish. This is an elegant, soft and fine-textured Gruner Veltliner with delicate flavours. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 3 years. 300 dozen made. 17.5/20 Dec 2014 RRP $29.00
