Nautilus Estate Marlborough Albarino 2014

Other White from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Dec-2014
The first Albarino release, fruit from the ‘Renwick’ vineyard, vines planted 2010 and 2011, hand-picked, WBP and cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 4.0 g/L RS. Full, pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues. The nose is fresh and bright with lifted aromatics, showing exotic florals, citrus fruit and some musky elements. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the flavours of fresh and exotic white florals and white stonefruits are light, but up–front and open, building in volume. This is smooth in texture with a slight oily, slippery mouthfeel. Fresh, lacy, lively acidity balances the rounded mouthfeel, lending cut and carrying the palate to a light, gentle finish with subtle vinous presence. This is a light, up-front Albarino with aromatic white fruits and a soft, slippery mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and with Asian fare over the next 3 years. 50 dozen made. 16.5+/20 Dec 2014 RRP $29.00
