Natural Wine Co. Gisborne Organic Pinot Noir 2018

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 23-Sep-2018
Ruby-red colour with light purple hues on the edge. The nose is fresh and up-front with vibrant aromas of dark-red and black cherry fruit with notes of raspberries and blackberries, unfolding a little liquorice and spice, then dark herbs and violet florals, forming a concentrated core. Medium-bodied, the palate has a moderately rich heart of cherry, raspberry and blackberry fruit, along with herbs, violets and florals. The favours are softly mouthfilling and underlined by light tannin extraction lending powdery grip and background structure. The acidity is soft and balanced and the wine carries to a gentle, fruity finish. This is a soft and up-front fruity Pinot Noir with cherry, raspberry and blackberry flavours with a gently textured mouthfeel. Serve with antipasto and tapas over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Coastal’ vineyard, Manutuke, destemmed and given a 48 hour cold soak, then indigenous yeast fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine spending 12 days on skins and given light oak contact. Certified Asurequality Organic. 16.5+/20 Sep 2018 RRP $22.00
