Natural Wine Co. Gisborne Organic Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 23-Nov-2016
Even, light ruby-red colour, pale on the edge with youthful purple hues. The nose is elegant with a firm core of dark cherry and berry fruit along with dark herbs and pepper, entwined with piquant minerally reduction. Light-medium bodied, the palate possesses light, uncomplicated fruit flavours of strawberries and cherries entwined with herbal notes and minerally reduction. The palate has a light, grainy tannin structure providing dry textures, and the mouthfeel is balanced by integrated acidity. This has presence and grip, and the wine flows with linearity. The flavours recede to a dry, light finish. This is a light strawberry and herb fruited Pinot Noir with some reduction, on a dry, grainy textured palate. Match with tapas, risotto and pasta dishes over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Coastal’ vineyard, indigenous yeast fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 6 months in seasoned French oak. Certified Asurequality organic. 15.5/20 Nov 2016 RRP $19.95
