Natural Wine Co. Gisborne Organic Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 23-Nov-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour, paler on the rim. This has a fresh, bright and lively nose with up-front, uncomplicated aromas of citrus fruit, yellow stonefruits revealing subtle savoury elements and steely, refreshing minerals. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses gently rich and luscious flavours of yellow stonefruits, citrus fruits and yellow plums. The fruit is underlined by fine phenolic textures and the palate ha fresh, lacy acidity in support. This has a subtle unctuousness balanced by the acidity which carries the stonefruit and plum nuances to a gentle finish. This is a gently rich and luscious, up-front, yellow stonefruited Pinot Gris with fine textures and a fresh mouthfeel. Serve with Asian cuisine over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Coastal’ vineyard, 30% given overnight skin contact and indigenous yeast cool-fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and approx. 8 g/L RS, the wine given extended lees contact. Certified Asurequality organic. 17.0/20 Nov 2016 RRP $19.95
