Naked Vine Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Mar-2015
Dark, deep ruby-red colour with some purple hues, lighter edged. This has an elegant bouquet with softly concentrated, fresh dark red berry and plum aromas lifted by violet florals and some spicy oak and hints of resinous nuances. The aromatics open with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the palate features dark red berry fruit, spicy plum and liquorice flavours enlivened by soft acidity. The mouthfeel is lively with underlying tannin extraction providing a positive, firm line. This has good vitality and drive and the flavours lead to a firm, lively finish with liquorice and plum notes. This is a bright and tight, grainy-textured Pinot Noir with flavours of red berry fruits and spicy plums, Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 4+ years. Fruit from the ‘Patriarch’ vineyard, given a cold soak and fermented to 12.9% alc., the wine aged 18 months in 14% new French oak barriques. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5-/20 Mar 2015 RRP $24.95
