Naked Vine Marlborough Pinot Noir 2012

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Aug-2013
Clones 777, 667 and Abel from the ‘Patriarch’ vineyard, fermented to 12.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 20% new French oak barrels. Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, youthful in appearance. The bouquet is somewhat restrained, but opens to show a full and concentrated melange of ripe dark red berry and black cherry fruit, dark herbs and oak spices, lifted with floral elements. Light-medium bodied, up-front flavours of ripe, dark berry fruit, black plums and liquorice are the feature on palate. The fruit is supported by soft, supple, fine-grained tannins. Fresh, lacy acidity enlivens the fruitiness and carries the palate to a subtly nuanced, brisk finish. This is a soft and gently flavoured, black-fruited Pinot Noir with a refreshing mouthfeel. Match with pasta, poultry and pork over the next 3+ years. Certified BioGro organic. 16.5+/20 Aug 2013 RRP $18.99
