Naked Vine Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-Oct-2014
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with the faintest suggestion of blush, pale on edge. This has a voluminous nose with lifted exotic florals intermixed with spices, honeysuckle and fermentation esters. Dry to taste and light-bodied, tight and subtle flavours of white stonefruits, rose-petals and minerals show on a taut palate. The acidity is crisp, providing freshness, and a light phenolic line combined with some alcohol drive carries the palate to a lively, long finish with some sweetness. This is a light, crisp Pinot Gris with subtle exotic florals and good aromatics. Match with Asian fare over the next 18 months. Pinot Gris from the ‘Patriarch’ vineyard, cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. Certified BioGro organic. 15.5/20 Aug 2013 RRP $15.99
