Full, even straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues and some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with gently packed and deep aromas of yellow stonefruits interwoven with subtle, savoury nutty and creamy barrel-ferment elements and complex oxidative nuances. The aromatics grow in breadth and detail with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the palate has a rounded and concentrated core of ripe yellow stonefruits and citrus fruit along with a light layering of savoury, creamy, nutty oak and oxidative elements. The mouthfeel is rounded and the wine flows smoothly along a gentle, textured line with integrated acidity. The wine carries to a soft finish of stonefruits and nuts. This is a rounded, but concentrated Chardonnay with ripe yellow stonefruit, creamy, nutty oak and oxidative detail. Match with roast pork over the next 4 years. 60% Mendoza clone and 40% clone 95 fruit, fully barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 50% new French oak barriques on lees without batonnage, but 100% MLF. 500 bottles made. 17.5-/20 Feb 2017 RRP $32.00
