Mystree ‘Reserve’ Martinborough Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 30-Jan-2017
Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon hues and some depth, lighter edged. This has an elegantly proportioned nose with moderately intense, refined aromas of citrus fruit and lifted white stonefruits harmoniously entwined with creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak nuances, and hints of buttery MLF. The aromatics are soft, fine and balanced in presentation. Medium-bodied, the palate is finely concentrated and slender in proportion with good intensity of citrus fruits along with creamy and nutty oak, and hints of lemon-curd MLF, the mouthfeel enlivened by crisp acidity. The wine flows along a fine-textured phenolic line and carries to a lingering, taut finish. This is an elegant and slender Chardonnay with good depth of citrus fruit and spicy, creamy, nutty oak on a brisk palate. Match with seafood and creamy poultry dishes over the next 3-4 years. 60% clone 95 and 40% Mendoza fruit, fully barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 50% new French oak barriques on lees without batonnage, but 100% MLF. 500 bottles made. 17.0+/20 Feb 2017 RRP $27.00
