Music Bay ‘Summer’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Apr-2017
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very fresh with intense and penetrating aromas of fresh herbs, cut grass and nettles, with subtle passionfruit, blackcurrant leaf and bean notes, unveiling mineral nuances. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has up-front flavours of gooseberries, cut grass and nettles, with passionfruit and leaf nuances forming a tight core. The mouthfeel is crisp and mouthwatering with zesty acidity, and the wine flows along a dry-textured, phenolic line carrying through to a dry, lingering finish of herbs and leaf. This is a crisp, taut, mouthwatering Sauvignon Blanc with nettle, cut grass, gooseberry, leaf and bean flavours on a dry, textural palate. Serve with salads and vegetables and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Awatere Valley cool-fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and 3.1 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Apr 2017 RRP $16.99
