Music Bay Hawke’s Bay Merlot 2016

Merlot from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 06-Aug-2018
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with aromas of dark plum fruit with notes of fresh and dark herbs at the core. This has good volume and depth. Medium-bodied, the palate has flavours of dark-red plums with an amalgam of fresh and dark herbs and toasty elements. The mouthfeel has sweetness and softly mouthfilling flavours along with light tannin structure providing good grip and balance. The flavours carry easily to a plummy and herb nuanced finish. This is a moderately full, fleshy and fruity Merlot with plum and herb flavours with light, balanced tannin structure. Match with barbecued and roasted red meats over the next 2-3 years. A blend of predominantly Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, from Hawke’s Bay, fermented to 13.0% alc. 16.5-/20 Aug 2018 RRP $16.99
