Murphy-Goode California Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from USA
Review Date : 31-Jul-2018
Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and full, with up-front aromas of savoury yellow stonefruits and citrus fruit, along with some nutty and smoky oak and a suggestion of butterscotch. This is fruit focussed and has a refreshing steeliness. Medium-full bodied, the palate has fulsome and gently rich, but fresh flavours of yellow stonefruits and citrus fruit, hints of nutty oak and a little MLF butteriness unfolding to fill the mouth. The fruit richness is cut by fresh acidity and the wine carries along a fine-textured phenolic line, leading to an elegant, dry finish. This is an up-front Chardonnay with ripe stonefruit, citrus, nutty and buttery flavours, balanced by fresh acidity. Match with seafood and creamy sauced white meat dishes over the next 3 years. California fruit fermented in stainless-steel with 10% in barrel to 13.8% alc. 17.5-/20 Aug 2018 RRP $30.00
