Murphy-Goode California Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from USA
Review Date : 31-Jan-2018
Bright golden-yellow colour with some depth, lighter edged. The nose is softly full and voluminous with aromas of ripe tropical fruit and citrus fruit harmoniously entwined with a subtle, nutty layering along with hints of creamy oak and nuances of lees. Medium-full bodied, the palate has up-front and accessible, mouthfilling flavours of ripe tropical fruit, citrus fruit and savoury pineapple, along with nutty notes. This has good vigour, with fresh, lacy acidity; the wine flows along a fine, firm-textured liner line. The phenolics grow and carry the wine to a taut, dry finish. This is an up-front, mouthfilling Chardonnay with rich tropical and citrus fruit flavours and nutty notes on a lively palate and a taut finish. Match with roasted pork and veal dishes over the next 3+ years. California fruit, a blend of 99% Chardonnay and 1% Viognier, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged one month in French and American oak, 2% new, and 11 months in tank. 17.0+/20 Jan 2015 RRP $30.00
