Murdoch James ‘Rhiannon’ Martinborough Pinot Meunier Rosé 2012

Rose from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 12-Dec-2012
Bright, pale salmon pink colour, a little lighter on rim. This has an elegantly concentrated bouquet with delicately perfumed, red floral and red berry fruit aromas detailed with hints of herbs and bon-bons. Dry to taste, fresh and pure flavours of strawberries and roses build to form a soft and smooth-textured core with excellent definition and line. A tantalising, mouth-watering sweetness features on mid-palate. The acidity is very fine and balanced, and along with the subtle alcoholic drive carries the delicate flavours to a long and sustained finish. This is a beautifully fine and delicate rosé that is smooth and flowing, possessing subtle concentration. Serve with antipasto or summer fruits on a sunny day over the next 2+ years. Pinot Meunier from the ‘Blue Rock' vineyard from 25 y.o. vines, destemmed, given 4 hours on skins followed by a 3 hour press cycle. Fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% and 4 g/L rs. 18.5/20 Dec 2012 RRP $25.30
