Murdoch James ‘Blue Rock’ Martinborough Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 07-Nov-2011
Fruit from the ‘Blue Rock' vineyard fermented to 13.5% alc. and 6.0 g/L rs., the wine in lees contact for 4 months. Bright, very pale straw colour with green hues and a pale rim. There are deep aromas of fresh, clean white peaches along with flint and minerals. Dry and tightly bound in flavour, white stonefuit flavours show with floral and minerals, the subtle fruit sweetness providing a delicate roundness. A soft textural thread and balanced acidity leads to a crisp, chalky, minerally finish. A gentle, textural and balanced wine to serve with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 2-3 years. 17.0+/20 Nov 2011 RRP $25.00
