Mudbrick ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Noble Riesling 2014

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-Sep-2015
Bright golden-yellow colour with some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is full and broad with rich and concentrated aromas of exotic tropical and citrus fruits entwined with layers of apricots, honey, marmalade and talc botrytis that grow in density and decadence. Very sweet and rich, the palate features luscious, exotic and opulent flavours of ripe tropical fruits entwined with crystallised fruits, intermixed with citrus fruits and exotic, savoury florals. Waves of marmalade, apricots, honey and musk unfold to fill the palate. This is unctuous in mouthfeel, with a fine lacy acid line guiding the wine, leading to a soft and sustained, honied and musky, decadent finish. This is a rich, lusciously opulent botrytised Riesling with exotic fruit flavours and waves of talc and musky botrytis. Match with fruit desserts, crème caramel and crème brulee, as well as blue cheeses over the next 5 years. Botrytis affected Marlborough Riesling fermented in stainless-steel to 11.0% alc. and 165 g/L RS, and pH 3.26. 666 cases made. (375 ml) 18.5/20 Sep 2015 RRP $35.00
