Mud House Waipara Valley Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 06-Jan-2015
Pale straw-yellow colour with some light green hues on edge. The nose is softly fresh with building depth and intensity of lime and lemon fruit aromas infused with chalky mineral notes. Hints of tangerines unfold, adding to the interest. Medium-dry to taste and light-medium bodied, gently concentrated and softly expressed flavours of limes and lemonade are nuanced by exotic tangerine notes. The palate is well-balanced with detailed acid zestiness and the wine follows a soft-textured line. Mouthwatering mineral notes emerge and are carried to a fine, dry-textured, lingering finish. This is a gently mouthwatering medium-dry Riesling with a soft, concentrated palate. Serve with seafood and Asian fare over the next 3-4+ years. Fruit from the ‘Mound’ vineyard, cool-fermented to 12.0% alc. and 14 g/L RS and TA 7.5 g/L. 17.5+/20 Jan 2015 RRP $18.99
