Mud House Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 23-May-2016
Light garnet-red colour with some depth and a hint of bricking on the rim. This has a soft, light and harmonious nose of aromatic and jammy red berry fruit with subtle hints of dried herbs, and nuances of liquorice and spice. Medium-bodied, the palate possesses light, sweet and fragrant fruit with juicy and jammy flavours of strawberries and raspberries along with whole berry confectionary elements. The fruit sweetness is underlined by light, accessible tannin structure and easy acidity which leads the flavours to a light, dry, lingering, pretty finish of strawberries and raspberries. This is a light and up-front, sweet-fruited Pinot Noir with accessible structure. Match with pasta, pizza and antipasto over the next 2+ years. Waipara Valley fruit from estate and grower vineyards, destemmed and fermented, partially with indigenous yeast to 13.0% alc., the wine aged in tank, and new and seasoned oak. 15.5+/20 May 2016 RRP $17.99
