Mud House ‘Sub Region Series’ ‘Grovetown’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2018

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Oct-2018
Bright, straw-yellow colour with light golden hues and some depth, paler edged. The nose is fresh and elegantly proportioned with good intensity of tightly bound aromas of white and yellow stonefruits along with subtle notes of exotic florals, pears and honeysuckle, unfolding subtle nutty and mineral nuances. This has clarity and depth. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and fresh in expression with vibrant and aromatic fruit flavours of white and yellow stonefruits with exotic florals and hints of pears with honeysuckle. The mouthfeel is bright with fresh acidity and the wine has fine linearity, leading to an elegant, sustained finish. This is an elegant, vibrant and refreshing medium-dry Pinot Gris with exotic stonefruit, floral, pear and honied flavours and a fine linearity. Serve with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 3 years. Fruit from the Grovetown district, Marlborough, fermented in stainless-steel with a portion in seasoned French oak barriques to 13.0% alc. and 8.0 g/L RS, the wine aged on light lees. 1,150 dozen made. 18.5/20 Oct 2018 RRP $19.99
