Mud House Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Dec-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour with some green hues, very pale on edge. The bouquet is very elegant and refined with subtle and understated aromas of ripe passionfruit and fresh herb and mineral nuances that are detailed and intricate, and build in intensity. Dry to taste and tightly bound, this is elegantly proportioned with striking linearity with its finesse. Harmoniously intermixed and concentrated flavours of pungent passionfruit, tropical fruits flint and minerals flow smoothly and with drive, lifted by acid tension. The palate carries through to a gently luscious, lively and fine-textured finish with lingering passionfruit nuances. This is an elegant, refined and detailed Sauvignon Blanc with fresh, pungent tropical fruit characters. Serve with seafood and Mediterranean salads and vegetables over the next 2+ years. Over 50% of the fruit was sourced from the ‘Woolshed’ vineyard in the upper Wairau, the remainder from contracted parcels in the Wairau, Ure and Awatere valleys, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.1% alc and 2.7 g/L RS. 18.5/20 Dec 2013 RRP $21.99
