Mt. Monster Limestone Coast Shiraz 2010

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 09-Jun-2013
Limestone Coast fruit fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine given light oak contact. Dark, deep ruby-red colour with black-purple hues. The nose is tight and penetrating with vibrant dark pepper and mint aromas, along with dark floral, spice and black berry notes, all fruit-driven and focussed. Medium-full bodied, this is elegant and slender in proportion with pure, intense and linear fruit flavours of mint and pepper. There is sweetness in balance with supple tannins, the moderate extraction providing a good core and body. Fresh acidity adds to the vitality of the mouthfeel and with the tannins carry the palate through to a tight, focussed finish. This is a fruit-driven, lively Shiraz with mint and pepper notes. Serve with pasta, pizza and barbecued foods over the next 4-5 years. 17.5/20 Jun 2013 RRP $19.95
