Mt Difficulty ‘Single Vineyard – Target Gully’ Central Otago Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 11-Aug-2013
Full, deep, densely coloured, youthful pruple-red. This has a very fine, tight and concentrated bouquet of ripe black berry and cherry fruit lifted by violet perfumes. The aromatics are refined and detailed, youthfully fragrant and primary. Medium-full bodied, fresh black cherry and berry fruit flavours show great purity and are lifted by floral notes. The mouthfeel is very concentrated with fine-grained, flowery, and supple tannins in support. The textures and acidity show physiological ripeness, and the palate flows with finesse and elegance, carrying through to a very long, lingering aromatic and nuanced finish. A classically styled and proportioned Pinot Noir, pure and youthful. It will develop over the next 8-10 years. Clones 5, 6, 10/5 and 777, from vines 15-16 y.o., fully detemmed, given a cold soak, then fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 19 days on skins and aged 16 months in barrel. 20.0/20 RRP $90.00
