Mt Beautiful North Canterbury Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 12-Apr-2018
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is tightly bound and restrained in expression, quite slender and elegant, with a light core of gooseberry and green stonefruits, along with savoury herbs, unveiling notes of cut-grass, nettles and a little passionfruit. Medium-bodied, the palate has elegantly concentrated flavours of green stonefruits, gooseberries, nettles and cut grass with savoury herbs. The mouthfeel is fresh and zesty from crisp acidity, and the wine flows along a fine-textured phenolic line that carries to a dry, finely-flavoured finish of nettles and herbs. This is an elegant Sauvignon Blanc with flavours of green stonefruits, nettles and cut-grass with savoury herbs on a zesty, light-textured palate. Match with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit fermented in stainless-steel with 2.5% in barrel to 13.0% alc. and 2 g/L RS, the wine aged 8 months on lees. 9,900 cases made. 17.0/20 Apr 2018 RRP $24.00
