Mt Beautiful Cheviot Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 01-Sep-2011
Cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 2.4 g/L rs, the wine was kept on light lees for two months. Brilliant straw-yellow in colour with pale lemony-green hues, this has a restrained nose of light gooseberry fruit with grassy, minerally elements and some flintiness. Dry to taste, this has a soft, shy fruit expression of gooseberries and herbs with a little secondary bean-like development. The palate has good weight and vinous presence, soft textures and balanced acidity. The finish is moderately sustained and subtle in nuance, making the wine quite accessible. Match this gentle mature Sauvignon Blanc with Mediterranean cuisine over the next 2+ years. 17.0/20 Sep 2011 RRP $19.95
