Mount Riley Marlborough Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Mar-2016
Bright yellow colour with lemon-green hues. This has a fresh nose with bright aromas of white stonefruits and citrus fruits, along with nutty nuances, unfolding white floral and flinty mineral suggestions. Medium-bodied, the palate possesses a moderately concentrated core of white stonefruits, citrus fruit, nuts and minerals, showing good density. The mouthfeel has fine, but firm phenolics guiding the wine, lending plenty of presence. Balanced acidity lends freshness and energy, carrying the wine to a sustained, dry, stonefruited finish. This is a fresh, moderately concentrated Chardonnay with stonefruit and citrus flavours and a firm, textural core and line. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the Wairau Valley, 70% fermented in new and seasoned French oak barriques and 30% in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc., the oak-fermented portion aged 7 months on lees with partial MLF. 16.5+/20 Mar 2016 RRP $17.99
