Mount Riley Marlborough Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Feb-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is tight with elegantly concentrated aromas of white stonefruits and citrus fruits melded with a mealy, nutty and flinty amalgam of lees and oak. Medium-bodied, light but well-concentrated and intense flavours of stonefruits are entwined with mealy, flinty oak and lees elements. The mouthfeel has fresh, lacy acidity and a fine, drying texture that provides a building presence. The palate carries through to a long, sustained lingering dry finish. This is a mouthwatering, elegantly concentrated, dry Chardonnay with stonefruit and lees flavours. Serve with antipasto, seafood and creamy sauce white meat dishes over the next 3 years. Fruit from the Wairau Valley, 70% barrel-fermented with30% in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc., the oaked portion aged on lees for 7 months, undergoing partial MLF. 17.0/20 Feb 2015 RRP $18.00
