Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 12-Oct-2023
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is elegant and softly full, with aromas of orchard fruit, delicate white floral and subtle spice. Medium-bodied, dry-ish to taste, aromas of Nashi pear, apple melded with fennel pollen, white blossom and a hint of ginger. The mouthfeel is silky with fine-textured phenolics, and lively acidity injects freshness and flows effortlessly to a long, crisp lingering. This Pinot Gris is well-made and well-balanced with an elegant appeal. Match with fish tacos and salt & pepper squid over the next 3 years. Half whole bunch pressed and half destemmed, fermented in stainless steel to 13% alc, 4 g/l RS. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Oct 2023 RRP $24.50
