Mount Langi Ghiran ‘Cliff Edge’ Grampians Shiraz 2013

Syrah from Australia - Victoria
Review Date : 18-Jun-2015
Impenetrable black-red colour, with youthful purple hues. This has a tightly pack and intensely penetrating nose of ripe, black berried and peppery fruits, with an array of spice, floral and black minerally aromatics. Classical cooler spectrum expression, with depth and concentration here. Medium-full bodied, but elegant in presentation with lusciously sweet black fruits, black pepper and spices, this has fruit extract and weight. An aromatic lift underlines the fruit. The mouthfeel is fine-textured with supple tannin structure, and the wine is lively and vibrant with ripe, soft acidity providing vitality and tension. Lovely concentration and line showing, leading to a long, sustained finish. Estate fruit fermented with 30% whole bunch to 14.3% alc., the wine aged 15 months in 30% new French oak barriques. 18.5+/20 Jun 2015 RRP $37.9
