Mount Fishtail Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Mar-2012
Fruit mainly from the ‘Mt Fishtail' vineyard in the Wairau Valley, with smaller portions of Waihopi fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 5.0 g/L rs. The wine spent 3 months on lees. Brilliant, very pale straw-green colour, pale on rim. This has a light, elegant nose of gooseberries and minerals with cut grass notes, in the cooler spectrum, but expressed with clarity and fresh lift. Dry to taste, this is clean and crisp with light gooseberry, grass and mineral flavours, the racy acidity providing some intensity and cut. The acidity and line leads to a subtle finish with gooseberry fruit notes. Match this light, clean and racy, gooseberry fruited Sauvignon Blanc with seafood over the next 18 months to 2 years. 16.5-/20 Mar 2012 RRP $17.65
