The 7.5 ha ‘Morrison' vineyard in Lowburn has 1 ha of Riesling and provides the fruit for this first single-vineyard Riesling release. Cool-fermented to 11.5% alc. and 25 g/L rs. Very pale straw colour, with slight green hues, near colourless. This has a very fine and beautifully delicate bouquet of limes and exotic florals, the aromas with perfume nuances and a steeliness. Medium-dry, the flavours of limes, jasmine and minerals are interwoven and softly presented, flowing gently through a soft-textured, smooth palate, kept fresh, and mouthwatering by good acidity. A fine phenolic thread carries the flavours through to a long finish. The finesse and delicacy of the wine is a highlight. An aperitif style that will develop greater complexities over the next 4-6 years. 18.5+/20 Dec 2011 RRP $29.50
