Mount Edward Central Otago Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 22-May-2013
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with green hues, near colourless on rim. This has a beautifully intriguing and detailed bouquet of lifted lime and white floral aromas with tangerine and jasmine notes, along with a whisker of minerally reduction. Slightly sweet to taste, a delicate lusciousness with enticing flavours of citrus fruits and exotic florals feature on the palate. Elegant in proportion, this has very fine, lacy acidity along with a subtle softness and unctuousness. The flavours flow seamlessly and with fresh energy to a very long and sustained finish with exotic floral and fruit notes. This is an elegant and delicate off-dry Riesling with beautifully exotic nuances. Serve as an aperitif or with fine Asian fare over the next 5+ years. Fruit from the Holdsworth's ‘L'Attitude' vineyard in Lowburn, fermented to 12.5% alc. and 15 g/L rs. 327 cases made. 18.5+/20 Dec 2012 RRP $25.99
