Mount Dunstan ‘Reserve’ Central Otago Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 12-Nov-2015
Ruby-red colour with light purple hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is moderately concentrated with a deep core of ripe dark red cherry and berry fruit, lifted by red florals, spices, herb and liquorice notes. This is elegant in presentation. Medium-full bodied, the palate is softly full and rounded, with deep flavours of dark red berry fruits. This has good weight, mouthfeel and presence. Lifted element and florals show, providing interest. The fruit is underlined by supple tannin extraction and has integrated acidity providing a balanced core. Some alcohol drive is noticeable and the wine carries to a long. lifted, ethereal finish. This is a soft, rounded Pinot Noir with good weight and depth, along with lifted aromatics. Match with poultry, pork, beef and lamb over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit from low-cropped vines in Alexandra, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 25% new French oak. 17.0+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $39.95
