Mount Dunstan Central Otago Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 10-Nov-2015
Even ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter edged. This has an elegant and fragrant nose with some lift and finely presented aromas of red cherry fruit entwined with red florals and nuances of savoury thyme herbs. The aromatics are shy and restrained in expression. Medium-bodied, the palate is smooth and rounded with a supple core of dark red cherry and berry fruits, lifted by light floral elements. Some thyme herb detail unfolds as the wine flows, following a light line of tannins. The mouthfeel is fresh with light and lacy acidity, carrying the wine to an elegant, smooth, juicy finish. This is a smooth, supple and juicy Pinot Noir with elegant red cherry and berry fruit flavours and a fresh mouthfeel. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 3+ years. Alexandra fruit fermented to 13.3% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 36% new French oak. 16.5+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $28.95
