Mount Brown Waipara Valley Riesling 2016

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 22-Dec-2016
Very bright, pale straw colour, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very fresh , tight and elegantly concentrated with soft aromas of lime fruit along with exotic white florals and nuances of sherbet with honeysuckle, unfolding a little waxiness and steel mineral elements. This has lovely clarity and purity of expression. Medium-dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate possesses a tight core of bright and aromatic lime fruit entwined with exotic white florals, along with nuances of honeysuckle and minerals. The mouthfeel is vibrant and lively with crisp underlying acidity and the wine follows a very fine-textured, drying line. The exotic fruit flavours unfold to fill the mouth and carry to a long, lingering fragrant finish. This is a tightly bound off-dry Riesling with a core of exotic lime and floral fruit with honied and mineral elements on a crisp, fine palate. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 5+ years. Fruit from the ‘Limeloader’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 9 g/L RS. 18.5-/20 Dec 2016 RRP $15.99
