Mount Brown Waipara Valley Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 27-Aug-2014
Fruit from the ‘Limeloader’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 7 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on lees. Light straw-yellow colour with a faint blush, pale on rim. This has a very fine, tightly held and elegant nose of pure, uncomplicated white stonefruits with some minerally notes. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, lusciously bright flavours of white stonefruits are enhanced by fresh, lively acidity. The mouthfeel is very fine featured and fine-textured and flows with energy and tension. There is some underlying power and drive, and the sweet flavours lead to a light, receding finish with lingering acid lifted nuances. This is an elegant, off-dry Pinot Gris with fresh acid vibrancy and restrained richness. Serve with antipasto, seafood and poultry over the next 3-4 years. 17.5-/20 Aug 2014 RRP $14.99
