Mount Brown North Canterbury Pinot Gris 2018

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 18-Nov-2018
Bright straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is youthfully fresh and full with good depth of ripe yellow stonefruit aromas with pears, some exotic yellow florals and a little honeysuckle, with suggestions of ferment esters. Medium-dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has bright, lively flavours of yellow stonefruits, exotic floras, pears and honey, forming a deep heart with plenty of palate presence. A little alcohol power is present adding a little robustness and drive. Fresh acidity underlines the fruit, and the wine flows with good linearity to a lingering, refreshing finish. This is a bright and lively medium-dry Pinot Gris with rich flavours of stonefruits, pears and florals on a palate with presence and some power. Serve with Middle Eastern and Asian fare over the next 3+ years. Estate fruit picked clean at 22 Brix, with some shrivel, fermented in stainless-steel with a small portion in barrel to 14.0% alc. and 7 g/L RS. 18.0-/20 Nov 2018 RRP $15.99
