Mount Brown North Canterbury Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 21-Nov-2017
Bright pale straw-yellow colour, lighter edged. The nose is softly fresh with fragrant aromas of white stonefruits and pears, with exotic floral lift, a little honeysuckle and nuances of fresh fermentation esters. The aromatics form a fine, tight core with good depth. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegant in proportion with fine intensity of tightly-bound flavours of white stonefruits, pears and exotic white florals. The palate has very fine textures and bright acidity enlivening the mouthfeel. The wine flows with good linearity to a lingering, subtly-nuanced finish. This is an elegant and refined, intense dryish Pinot Gris with white stonefruit, pear and exotic floral flavours on a fresh, fine-textured palate. Serve with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 3+ years. A single estate wine, cool-fermented in stainless-steel, with approx. 10% in seasoned oak to 13.5% alc. and 8 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on gross lees. 18.0/20 Nov 2017 RRP $15.99
