Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. The nose is firm and concentrated with intense aromas of green stonefruits layered with fresh, complexing gunflinty lees and minerally reductive notes, revealing fresh herb and nutty nuances. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate features a finely packed heart with flavours of green stonefruits and fresh herbs melded with complexing notes of gunflint, nuts and minerals. The mouthfeel balances fruit sweetness and juiciness, enlivened by bright acidity, and a fine guiding, phenolic-textured line. This has excellent linearity, and the flavours carry to a long, concentrated stonefruit and flinty finish. This is a firm and finely concentrated, complex oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc with rich stonefruit and flinty flavours on a fresh and refined palate. Serve with herb-marinated seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 3+ years. Fruit from selected rows in a block in the ‘Limeloader’ vineyard, indigenous yeast fermented in puncheon to 12.0% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 months in oak, 3 months of the time in 50% new, the wine undergoing batonnage. 93 cases made. 18.5/20 Nov 2016 RRP $22.99
