Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter on rim. This has a full, soft and richly ripe bouquet of dark raspberry fruit harmoniously melded with dark plums, liquorice and complexing dark herbal detail. Nuances of spice, violet florals and nutty oak emerge with aeration, the fruit growing with depth and intensity. Medium-full bodied, the palate is rich, plush and sweetly ripe with bright and vibrant fruit flavours of dark raspberries, black plums and liquorice. This is softly concentrated with a deep and densely packed core. The mouthfeel is soft and refined with fine-grained, ripe and supple tannins that carry the wine to a long, succulently fruited finish of raspberry liqueur, spices and liquorice. This is a plush and ripe, raspberry and plum fruited Pinot Noir with a softly concentrated, refined palate. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 6-7+ years. Davis and Dijon clone fruit destemmed and given a cold soak, partially indigenous yeast fermented to14.0% alc., the wine spending 10 days on skins post ferment and aged 18 months in 30% new French oak barriques. 18.5+/20 Aug 2015 RRP $29.00
