Mount Ara Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Oct-2014
Bright, full, light straw-yellow colour, paler on rim. This has a full, broad nose with ripe gooseberry fruit aromas with subtle passionfruit and tropical fruit notes, the bouquet beginning to show some secondary savoury yellow stonefruit elements. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, gentle flavours of gooseberries and, yellow capsicums and stonefruits are harmoniously melded with herbal nuances. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded, and the flavours follow an easy line with discreet acidity in the background. The finish is light, clean and dry. This is a soft, up-front Sauvignon Blanc with ripe gooseberry and capsicum flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with salads and vegetables and tapas over the next 18 months. Estate fruit cool-fermented in tank to 12.3% alc. and 1.52 g/L RS, the wine aged 2 months on lees. 16.5/20 Oct 2014 RRP $19.95
