Moss Wood ‘Moss Wood Vineyard’ Margaret River Pinot Noir 2008

Pinot Noir from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 13-Apr-2012
The fruit destemmed and given a cold soak, and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine given 14-17 days on skins, and then aged 20 months in 40% new French oak. Moderately deep ruby-garnet colour, with brick on edge, this has an intense and concentrated nose with dark red berry fruit aromas along with notes of spices, game, mint and a little eucalypt. Medium-full bodied, this has soft, mellow red fruit flavours complexed by spices and oak, integrating and becoming harmonious in texture. This has fine, supple tannins underlying the flavours, adding to the core, depth and presence. This will unfold and develop forest-floor complexities over the next 4-5+ years.  18.0-/20  Apr 2012  RRP $82.00
